Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a substance produced naturally by our body which is present in our body’s tissue. The molecules of hyaluronic acid attract water particles and subsequently increase in size.
The hyaluronic acid injection is recommended for patients who want to remove superficial and/or deeper facial creases, particularly creases between the eyebrows, nasolabial folds and creases around the mouth. It’s also used to increase lip size or make cheeks and cheekbones more pronounced.

Using a very fine needle, the hyaluronic acid is injected directly under the crease or the folds that are to be corrected. It’s a simple procedure that is carried out on an outpatient basis with no need for the patient to stay overnight at the clinic.
Hyaluronic acid can be administered together with other cosmetic techniques.
Duration of the hyaluronic acid treatment
Over time the hyaluronic acid treatment is reabsorbed meaning its results are temporary and last between 6 and 14 months after which the time the procedure needs to be repeated.
Side effects of Hyaluronic acid
The side effects are mainly local; above all inflammation and bruising that disappears within 24-28 hours of the treatment being applied.
